Floating dip tubes are designed to pull beer from the top of the keg, where there’s minimal if any particulate matter in solution, meaning clearer beer in less time. We’re trying 3 of the various floating dip tube designs out to determine which one works best!

Should have added the CaskWidge Float to the test, my favourite by far!
Tried them in my kegs. PITA! They get tangled and then the end sticks out of the liquid and nothing comes out.
To weigh down the first floating dip tube you showed, put a stainless steel nut onto the bottom of the hose. 7/16″ nut works great.
To make pushing the tubing onto the dip tube easier, put the tubing at a 45° angle to the dip tube so you have less resistance. A quick spritz of starsan makes it even easier. BTW, I have never had the sucking air issue. I actually prefer the regular DT. A nice long cold crash sends pretty clear beer into the keg.
One or two 10mm stainless steel nuts in the plastic mesh filter will weigh it down enough to prevent sucking gas in.
Hi Martin
Cuting shortening teh tube is gamechanger.
I was reluctant to cut the silicone tubing the 1st time I used it and i needed to lean in different directions several times to empty the keg. If you leave the original lengt, It will entangle.
You need to shorten the hose as short as you can but allowing the buoy/filter to fell in the bottom.
I did trial and error with open corny kegs. Elevating the kegs and siphoning (sucking) a hose connected to the liquid post. 1/4 keg of water will be enough to check how it works.
I have 2 different standard round floating with filters and they work great!. I use these for pressure fermenting and dryhopping in a 2nd keg to avoid oxidation. The result is outsanding.
