Sometimes you design a recipe that’s not necessarily intended to impress so much as it is provide friends and family with a refreshingly crushable quaffer during the warmer months. And sometimes those simple beers end up impressing just as much as they refresh. That’s exactly the case for Amarillo By Morning, which Marshall designed a few years ago as a beer to drink by the gulp while kickin’ it poolside during the hot Fresno summers. Relying heavily on Pilsner malt to create a light, crisp body, small amounts of Honey Malt and Pale Chocolate malt are sprinkled in purely for the sake of adding a touch of character, and it happens to work beautifully with the classic citrus notes from the Amarillo hops. With the weather warming up here in the northern hemisphere, we can’t recommend this recipe enough, and we’d love to hear what you think about it!
