Years ago, I compared an expensive stainless conical fermenter to a cheap plastic one, fermenting the same beer in each. While Norm and I were convinced we could taste a difference, we also acknowledged our perceptions could have been influenced by expectation bias, as we were aware of the variable. I use the 6.5 Gallon plastic Big Mouth Bubblers with Spigot as my primary fermenters. No secondary. 213 batches in 7 years.
