Homebrew Tasting :: Alex’s First Pilsner

A huge thanks to Alex (u/magilligan on Reddit) for sending this delicious beer for me to taste. He courageously took a stab at making a German Pils using a traditional lager yeast… using the quick lager method.

Congratulations on scoring so well, Alex! If you’ve been holding off on making lager beer because they take too long, I strongly encourage you to give this method a shot.

  1. That’s awesome! I’ll try the recipe for sure!… My first lager and first Festbier and first time using the fast lager method — won second place in best of show and got 46.5 on BJCP scoring sheet. Won first place at another beer pairing competition. It works!
