Academic Survey Participation Request

The University of Arkansas Center for Beverage Innovation is seeking participation from brewing professionals for a survey examining perceptions surrounding adjunct usage in beer production, particularly alternative grains such as rice.

This study aims to compare brewer perspectives with findings from prior consumer-focused research, including an in-person sensory study and an online survey involving approximately 1,000 consumers. Insights gathered will help improve understanding of how adjunct ingredients are viewed across both industry and consumer groups.

The survey should take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete. This research is being conducted by Dr. Scott Lafontaine (Scottla@uark.edu) from the Department of Food Science at the University of Arkansas. Participation is completely voluntary.

Participants may choose to enter a raffle for a chance to win one of several $50 gift cards following survey completion. Only individuals who complete the full survey and opt into the raffle will be eligible.
All responses will remain anonymous, and results will be shared only in aggregate form through conference presentations, publications, and summaries provided to participants.

This protocol, #2503597950, was approved by the University of Arkansas IRB on April 10, 2025. Questions regarding participant rights or the study may be directed to the IRB Coordinator, Ro Windwalker, at 479-575-2208 or irb@uark.edu.
