The Brülosophy Show: Brewing BIÈRE DE GARDE | Short & Shoddy

Bière de Garde, which translates to “beer for keeping,” is a traditional farmhouse ale originating from northern France. Historically brewed during the early spring to avoid unpredictable yeast behavior in warmer weather, these beers are typically lagered for a bit until they’re consumed during the summer months. Brülosophy contributor Will Lovell broke all the rules by brewing a Bière de Garde Short & Shoddy style! Will an abbreviated mash and boil with minimal lagering time result in a good example of Bière de Garde?
